Altura has been selected to update Evanston’s 2012 Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan in order to keep municipal and public spaces compliant with the ADA. The update will reflect the current state of city buildings, address existing
architectural and program barriers, and detail future steps for improvement.
An advisory group comprised of community members has been established to collaborate with the Altura team on this effort.
Altura will be collecting their input throughout the planning process. Two community workshops, both in-person and virtual,
will be held so the community can provide input on which facilities, programs, etc. to tackle in order of preference
and provide feedback during the draft of the ADA Transition Plan.
The goal is to have the ADA Transition Plan update ready for implementation by February 2022.
